The self taught artist with no formal training in artworks, started getting interest in art and went further to dig deeper.

Shepherd Mukodzani

The self taught artist with no formal training in artworks, started getting interest in art and went further to dig deeper.

With so much passion he started to buy small tins of acrylic paints which he uses as a form of medium to date. He enjoys using acrylic paints because of its nature of being flexible to work with and its nature to dry a bit faster than other forms of paint. On some of his works he uses texture paint for his artworks to have a texture effect.

He is a well established artist in South Africa and a great number of his paintings have found their way into homes overseas. He regularly teaches under privileged kids in Soweto on the basics of art and help to develop and identify their skills. He is also involved in corporate events in team building activities as a facilitator on an event called JUST PAINT in collaboration with ENIGMA ADVENTURES.

He has done many projects for big international companies for the board rooms painting.

Development & Training

Focused on the future

Artist Development

We provide professional development to upcoming artist and art students, that deepens understanding of the visual arts. We develop how to think critically with works of art. All art sessions with art students are booked in advance via email as we have very small classes which are always full.

The objectives of development are:

  • Unleash the creative capacities of the young people to thrive and compete in the knowledge economy of the 21st century
  • Capacitate the young people to become not only consumers of cultural products but also active participants and producers in the overall value chain of the creative and cultural industry
  • Improve the quality of basic education through rich arts, culture and heritage programmes
  • Foster social cohesion and national identity among the learners
  • Forge a closer partnership and working relations between the communities and schools
  • Create sustainable job opportunities for the arts practitioners in the formal educational sector, thereby contributing to the economic development of the country;
  • Develop sustainable audiences and markets for the arts, culture and programmes and products in the communities
  • Acknowledge and celebrate cultural diversities among the learners, thereby removing the xenophobic and racist tendencies that tend to disrupt social cohesion in the schools and communities
